Since that time we've been busy designing house plans, researching materials, talking to builders, re-designing house plans, talking to new builders, re-designing house plans, talking to banks, waiting on appraisals, researching paint colors, solidifying house plans, talking to new banks, scouring through craigslist, waiting on new appraisals, looking at interior house decor, drooling over pinterest, etc.
As was the case with the land acquisition/development, there have been many "yes it's going through/no it's not" moments in this house planning process. We thought we could possibly break ground as soon as the land was developed (July), but it took much longer than expected.
In the mean time, our family took full advantage of all the empty land. We went over 3-4 times a week to run around, play in the dirt, ride bikes, drive remote control cars, throw the ball to the dogs, etc.
Ultimately the delay was a blessing, since it allowed us to find a bank
we're comfortable with, an appraiser who knows what he's talking about,
and a builder we trust completely- but it has been quite the roller
coaster ride
Today we officially stepped off the first roller coaster, "The Planning Process" and got on a new, much more exciting, thrill ride- "The Construction Process".
We Broke Ground!!
