Thankful

I never posted about Thanksgiving, but I don't want to forget about it completely. We had a very low-key, wonderful thanksgiving day. With fairly large families and extended families, we're used to having LOTS of people around.
But, since Andy's and Casey's families were with their in laws, Lance's family is in Oregon, and Pete went with friends to Six Flags, it was just our little family and my parent's at their house. We missed everyone, but it was also really nice to have such a small, intimate holiday celebration :)

We had fun playing in the kids' room after a very delicious feast. I didn't get pictures of the food, but the image of my mom's sweet potatoes (with brown sugar, butter, marshmallows, toasted coconut, etc) and McKane's mashed potatoes (with butter, cream, sugar, etc) will forever be ingrained in my memory. Yum.
After playing at the house, we met family at the park for the traditional Turkey Bowl.
They had so much fun, but of course it had to end with someone getting hurt. Two years ago Casey broke his collarbone. This year, Dylan broke his nose. :( Saddest. Good thing Casey was there to set it right back into place (yikes).

Here are the cheerleaders who watched from the side lines (+Maryn, who played).

The little boys loved running around and playing at the park while the big boys played football. Everett was at my parent's house sleeping so he wasn't here for this part of the party.
Had to take a silly picture too :)
Sweet Brooklyn looked SO cute in her little hat + bow combo. I could not get enough of that cute face.

The Davis family celebrated Thanksgiving the Saturday following. It was more of the big, busy feast we're used to. We loved spending time with family +friends of family and once again, we ate such yummy food. I only got this one picture, taken right after Grandpa Charlie had a whip cream dispenser malfunction and sprayed whip cream all over the table/Eden, haha. We all had a good laugh about that one.

We're so grateful for all that we are blessed with and for the wonderful family and friends that surround us.
